Why is this alphabet called Pencil Top?

Because the letters are designed to be punched out of the rubber, using an ordinary 1/4" round hand held hole punch. You then have perfect little 1/4" rounds bits of rubber to glue onto the ends of pencil erasers.You'll love the way it feels when you stamp it.  HINT: When you are punching the letters hold everything inside a zip lock baggy because the force of punching can cause those letters to shoot out of the punch.
