Meet the Designers!
Beth Norman:
In 1999 I discovered the world of rubberstamping when a scrapbook store opened in Sarnia and offered altered book classes. I was introduced to mixed media and rubber stamping, which is popular today. It was in 2007 that I started my blog, Sunflowers and Dragonflies. I wanted my blog to be unique so I started shooting weekly tutorials.
In 2008 I approached Pat Huntoon with a techniqu
My style varies a lot. My passion is to colour using a wie.de variety of products such as Prismacolor pencil crayons and odorless mineral spirits to Copics and Tombow markers. I've been known to spend three hours colouring one image. e that I developed. Pat liked the technique and the tutorial I shot and offered me a position as a "writer" on her Turbo Team. Approximately one year later she had a spot available for me to be on her design team and I jumped at the wonderful opportunity. Since then I have been making cards and shooting tutorials for the Technique Junkie Newsletter.
I am thrilled to join Pat on her new journey with Technique Junkies Stamps.
Judy Jackson:
Judy Jackson lives in Dover, Pennsylvania. She married with three adult children. She and her hubby enjoy their 8 grandchildren. She is retired elementary school teacher having taught for 27 years. During those years she involved a lot of craft projects in her classroom to aid in the learning process. She has been crafting off and on for much of her life. She discovered stamping and scrapbooking about the same time in approximately 1997. After reading, buying, and subscribing to a variety of stamping and scrapping magazines she discovered the Technique Junkie newsletter in the summer of 2003 – and the rest is history. Judy loves Technique Junkie newsletters, techniques, and stamps! She joined the Technique Junkie Design Team in 2008 and became a Senior Design Team member in 2014. Judy has been published in several magazines.
Kathy Stacy:
Hello! My name is Kathy Stacy, also known as “The Crafty Nurse”. I’m a Southern California native who is now living in Upstate New York. By day, I’m a Registered Nurse, but my true passion is creating art. I mostly make cards, but also really enjoy art journaling, jewelry making, and scrapbooking. I am an avid Copic colorist, really enjoy taking classes, and swoon over new techniques using ink. That's why I've been a Technique Junkie subscriber for over 10 years! I must admit I do spend way too much on crafting supplies but thankfully, my saint of a husband for 23 years doesn’t complain too much. I have two adult boys, Dan and Matt, who I am exceedingly proud of. Now that I’m an empty nester and am finally finished with school, I have more time to dedicate to my blog and am beyond thrilled to be joining the Technique Junkie Design Team.
Marilyn Hughes:
I'm a 46-year old married mother of one. I've been creating in one medium or another for over 10 years now. I started out with miniatures, moved to costuming 1/12th scale porcelain dolls, and am now working in Mixed Media. I love creating and spend my entire weekends in my studio coming up with ATCs, Tags, Journal Pages, and Canvases (to name a few). I'll glue, paint, and alter anything that I can hold still for longer than 30 seconds. I also love stamping and most of my creations feature stamping somewhere in, on, or around them. Creating is my therapy.
I am a pharmacist by trade and have been for 18 years. I have been exercising the “creative” part of myself (as opposed to the scientific) for that last 10 years or so off and on. In the last 5 years I have become an avid paper crafter/stamper/artist.
I first became interested in paper crafts back in 1998 when I purchased my first "scrapbooking" kit from the Creative Memories consultant at the Big E. After getting the stuff home, I realized I wasn't really interested in scrapbooking, but loved paper and inks! Immediately I turned to card making and stamping and over the years my style and love has changed greatly. While I still love making the clean and simple cards and projects, my passion is for anything and everything grunge and inky yet with a more colorful flair.
I live in Northbridge, MA with my partner Katie and our 3 dogs Nathan (mini dachshund) who is 5, Tanner (a dachshund/hound mix) who is 1 & 1/2 and Quincy (Golden Retriever) who is 12. We love to spend time outdoors-hiking, biking, kayaking and stand up paddle boarding. And of course , we love to spend time in my studio, which I moved upstairs from our basement this fall and redesigned! It is such a great creative space.
Robin Redd:
I’ve been crafting all my life. I’ve done just about everything you can imagine in regards to crafting, thanks to my mom! I’ve been scrapbooking for over 20 years, stamping for over 25 years, and I’ve been venturing out in painting/mixed-media, and art journaling for the past 3 years.
I have LOTS of college credits in art, but never got a degree. I have a small online craft supply store that is keeping me busy in between making art projects. Who could ask for more?!
Pat Huntoon:
Pat is the owner of Technique Junkies LLC. In her past life, Pat was a corporate executive and the original Anti-Craft. She was forever swayed to the "dark side" after making her first scrapbook page. Pat is absolutely addicted to paper crafts and is the ultimate junkie - always exploring new ways to use every product, new and old, in unique ways. Owning the Technique Junkies Stamp line is a dream come true for Pat.
